Spay your shopping bags, try not to eat raw food in this period. Aerosol in confined environment Aerosol in confined environment mainly happened in hospital where have patients and also closed windows. People easily get infected in this condition. Public elevators are not as dangerous as hospitals, you need to wear mask to reduce the probability to breath the virus in. Opening your windows at home is extremely important. Aerosol produced by Stools and urine Be careful when use the toilets in public Symptoms Fever, cough and tiredness. Some patients also have blocked nose, running nose, sore throat, muscle pain and diarrhea. Most of severe and critically ill patients shows breathing problem and low blood oxygen after 1 week. Children and babies have different symptoms than adults: vomit, diarrhea (digestive system), tiredness and shortness of breath. Prevention Be positive. Most patients are fully recovered and most of severe and critically ill patients are older people underlaying heath condition. Drink 2000ml water daily with vitamin C. Doing exercise and keep healthy. - - Mask Q&A Q: If you recover from COVID-19, do you have immunity?s A: If you fully recover from COVID-19, you will have immunity in a period. Q: I heard someone cough outside my garden, am I still safe to leave my window open? A: it is very important to let fresh air flow into your house. Q: How can I pick up delivery safely? Is it still safe if I order takeaway food? A: Keep distance with other people, spray the outer layer of your package and leave them in open air area for a period. It is safe to order takeaway food if you re-heat them and wash your hand before your meal. Q: How can I shopping safely in supermarket? A: You need to wear mask especially in supermarkets with central air conditioning system. Try not to touch too many things, clean your hand (wash, hand sanitizer). When you come back home from supermarket, take off your shoes from outside, spray anti-virus products under the shoes; take off your clothes, spray them and leave them in open air area for few hours. covid-19-advice-from-prof-wang COVID-19 Epidemic Prevention Strategy-Professor Wang Xin On March 29, 2020, the UK Society of Chinese Automotive Engineers (UKCSAE) invited Professor Wang Xin from the University of Manchester to provide online science knowledge and answer questions about the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). Take precautions, isolate scientifically, make rational judgments, and don’t panic. Professor Wang Xin is the director of the Department of Cardiology at the School of Biomedical Health, University of Manchester, UK, executive editor of the British Journal of Pharmacology, and an internationally renowned cardiovascular disease research expert. Pathology and vaccines The existing public domain knowledge about the new coronavirus will not be repeated here. The following information will be helpful for personal risk control and behavioral judgment: COVID-19 is a virus with an envelope structure. Its basic structure includes spike-like S protein and positive-phase single-stranded RNA. The main mechanism of virus inactivation in vitro is to break the envelope and expose the RNA chain to the air, thereby destroying it and becoming ineffective (for example, alcohol). The development of vaccines is very complex, and it is optimistically estimated that there will be a major breakthrough within 1-2 years. Until a vaccine is successfully developed, NPIs (Non-Pharmaceutical Interventions) and autoimmunity will remain the most important antiviral means. 80% of patients have mild symptoms, with symptoms similar to other viral colds. 20% of patients are severely ill, and 5% of them may become critically ill. 4 types of patients who may become severe or critically ill Close contact with critically ill patients and exposure to high concentrations of viruses before illness Overlapping contact with multiple patients, repeated exposure to viruses from different sources before becoming ill Elderly or patients with underlying diseases (organ transplant, liver function problems, kidney function problems, high blood pressure, diabetes, etc.) Patients with increased inflammatory factors, coagulation dysfunction, and damage to vascular endothelial cells (currently the biggest unknown) daily prevention In addition to the various prevention methods that can be found, Professor Wang gave the following suggestions based on his own experience and the British national conditions: You can go to the supermarket, but be careful not to touch the shopping cart handle directly and wear a mask. If others have doubts about wearing a mask, they can inform them that it is for public protection even if they are not known to be carrying the virus. You can go out to exercise, but be sure to keep a distance (more than 2 meters) from others. If conditions permit, pollution zones, isolation zones and safety zones can be established at home (similar to the regional settings of surgical departments and infectious disease departments in hospitals). Clothes that go out and items brought in from the outside can be placed in the contaminated area and spray disinfectant on the surface. If there is no disinfectant spray, the clothing can be left to stand (no shaking is strictly prohibited). For the standing time, please refer to the following paper (note that the contaminated area is open to the outside world). ventilation to reduce virus concentration). After entering the isolation area, wash your hands, disinfect, put on indoor clothes, and enter the safe area after processing. If conditions do not allow partitioned treatment, you can purchase large clothes baskets, put the clothes outside in the clothes baskets and spray disinfectant or leave them in a ventilated place overnight (garage, balcony, etc.). When conditions permit, use disinfectant wipes to clean the outer packaging of items purchased from the supermarket before placing them in the refrigerator. Try to buy boxed fruit with the skin on for easier sterilization. If it is difficult to purchase alcohol-based disinfectant, you can use bleach at a dilution ratio of 1:30 to make disinfectant to disinfect the surface of objects (do not use it on food). Please be aware of the flammability and bleaching effects of bleach. Take Strepsils® throat lozenges when going out. The main component has a bactericidal effect and can create an environment in the mouth and pharynx that is unfavorable for RNA viruses to attack healthy cells. But you need to pay attention to the side effects, don’t overdose, and don’t eat it as candy. VaporRub™ can also be applied near the nasal mucosa. This kind of in vitro cream, which is usually used for antitussives in children, can have a certain protective effect on the nasal mucosa, making it difficult for the virus's spiky structure to directly attach to the nasal mucosa, and destroying the virus' spiky structure. Please be aware of side effects and dosage. It is recommended to prepare alcohol pads or glasses wipes to wipe and disinfect door handles or other easily touched places. It is not recommended to take Lianhua Qingwen Capsules for virus prevention. During the treatment period, you can use it according to the doctor's advice. If you must go to the hospital (for example, for a pregnancy check-up) during the epidemic, be sure to wear a mask for protection. Coping methods during illness Professor Wang uses his own experience (H3N2 avian influenza, symptoms similar to COVID-19) to share with you how to rely on simple medicines and your own immunity to heal yourself at home, and how to prevent the spread of diseases within the family. When you find that you have suspected symptoms, you must immediately self-isolate: separate rooms (separate rooms), separate meals (use separate tableware to eat alone), separate bathrooms (separate bathrooms). The room must be ventilated regularly to reduce virus concentration. Quilts and sheets should be washed every three days if possible (water temperature above 60 degrees). Those who take care of patients at home should wear masks, gloves, and shower caps to protect themselves. Masks, gloves, and shower caps must be changed or disinfected frequently. Take Paracetamol for drug cooling (do not take ibuprofen for COVID-19); apply medical alcohol cotton balls to the armpits and groin (high-strength liquor can be used under certain conditions) for physical cooling; you can also use multiple cold towels to prevent the refrigerator , instead of wiping your forehead to cool down. Take phlegm-reducing Chinese patent medicines rather than antitussive Chinese patent medicines; you can also take phlegm-reducing Western medicines, and avoid taking too strong cough drops. In terms of food, it is very important to ensure protein intake. If you have no appetite, you can make porridge with chicken stock and broth and add vegetables. Fruit can be eaten. Please pay attention to high-temperature sterilization of patient tableware. It takes 2 weeks from the onset of symptoms to recovery. If you have any concerns, be sure to contact GP online to tell them your symptoms. If you have difficulty breathing, call 999 or 111 to seek help from the NHS. Participants also proposed some ways to eliminate NHS services (charges): Bupa online GP Babylon Online GP mental health Mental health is very important during epidemic prevention. According to Professor Wang Xin’s understanding, the NHS is currently relatively well prepared, hospital beds are not all occupied, and medical staff have been told to wear protective equipment. Everyone is preparing for the upcoming peak period. Follow the government’s social distancing recommendations, protect yourself and your family, avoid listening to news and analysis from unknown sources, and turn to academic articles to make rational judgments about the epidemic. Maintain an optimistic attitude and be prepared for a protracted battle.

COVID-19 epidemic prevention strategy-1 On March 26, 2020, the UK Society of Chinese Automotive Engineers (UKCSAE) invited Dr. Nie Nixuan from Wuchang Hospital to provide online science education and answer questions about the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). Dr. Nie combined his experience in responding to the outbreak in Wuhan and gave an easy-to-understand explanation of the 'Seventh Edition of Diagnosis and Treatment Plan' based on cases, and also compiled a note to share with everyone. The coronavirus should be taken seriously, but if you know yourself and your enemy, it is not something to panic about. way for spreading Respiratory droplet transmission Wear a mask, a medical disposable mask is enough. Use your elbows to cover your mouth and nose when sneezing to avoid close face-to-face contact with others. You can hold your breath for a few seconds when others sneeze. Wear goggles (optional) to avoid other people’s saliva splashing, just wear glasses. When eating out, sit alone at a single table, avoid gathering face to face with others, and avoid talking while eating. spread by close contact Avoid direct contact with public places such as door handles and elevator buttons, and use paper towels to isolate them. If you come into direct contact with your hands, avoid rubbing your eyes, mouth, nose, and ears. Wash your hands or disinfect your hands with sanitizer. Try not to touch anything outside directly with your hands. You can use disposable gloves or spray disinfectant before touching. Go home, change all your clothes, wash your hair and take a shower. Spray alcohol or disinfectant on the bottom of the shoes and place them in a ventilated place outside the door. Spray disinfectant on the clothes and hang them in a ventilated place, or use ultraviolet light to disinfect them for more than half an hour. All items brought home from outside should be sprayed with disinfectant before being brought into the home. Cook food, do not eat it raw. Aerosol transmission in closed environments Mainly, closed places such as hospital wards where the virus gathers in high concentrations are prone to infection if exposed for a long time. The chance of infection is low in confined spaces such as elevators, so just wear a mask and avoid direct contact. Please open windows for ventilation at home. The impact of feces, urine, etc. on the environment causes aerosol transmission Pay attention to the hygiene of public toilets. Try not to use it in contact with it Disinfectant: It is recommended to use 75% alcohol. The proportion of 84 disinfectant should be used strictly in accordance with the instructions. Do not put disinfectant in the car to avoid high temperature and fire. In short, be sure to wear a mask when going out, wash hands frequently, and avoid crowd gatherings . Symptoms of COVID-19 infection The main symptoms are fever, dry cough, and fatigue. A small number of patients are accompanied by symptoms such as occlusion, runny nose, sore throat, myalgia and diarrhea. Severe patients often develop dyspnea and/or hypoxemia one week later. Mild patients may only present with low-grade fever, mild fatigue, etc., without pneumonia. The symptoms of some cases of children and newborns are not typical, showing vomiting, diarrhea and other gastrointestinal symptoms, or just mental weakness and shortness of breath. prevention It is important to maintain a good and optimistic mood. Most patients have a good prognosis, and most of the severe cases are elderly with underlying diseases. Drink 2000mL of water every day, soak vitamin C effervescent tablets in water and drink once. Moderate exercise, breathing exercises or Baduanjin (refer to the video). Or exercise in other ways, based on body tolerance. Preventive Chinese medicine prescription: 10g of astragalus, 10g of Atractylodes, 10g of Fangfeng, 10g of dried tangerine peel, 10g of Pinellia ternata, 10g of Codonopsis pilosula, 10g of Poria, 10g of licorice, 10g of Scrophulariaceae, and 10g of Morus bark. It can be taken as daily drinking water. treat Western medicine: Antiviral: Arbidol, Oseltamivir. or other antiviral drugs. It is not recommended to use three or more antiviral drugs at the same time. If adverse drug reactions occur, discontinue the drug immediately. The number of days of use shall not exceed 10 days. Cough and phlegm relieving: Asme, Cherno, Ambroxol Anti-inflammatory drugs: moxifloxacin, azithromycin, amoxicillin. Chinese patent medicine: Dry and itchy throat: swallow and feel refreshed Cough relieving and phlegm resolving: powerful loquat dew, Chuanbei loquat dew, lung force cough Fever symptoms: Xiaobuihu granules Fatigue, diarrhea: Huoxiang Zhengqi Capsules (pills, water, oral liquid) Use when fatigue is accompanied by fever, dry stool and other obvious symptoms of heat symptoms. Mask choice Q&A Q: Do people who recover from infection develop antibodies? A: People who have fully recovered will produce certain antibodies and will not be infected for a period of time. Q: If I hear an unknown cough in my yard, can I still open the window for ventilation? A: It is very important to open windows for ventilation. We should develop the habit of opening windows for ventilation every day. Q: Is it safe to order takeout? How to pick up express delivery safely? A: Do not have direct contact with the courier. Put the items at the designated location and pick them up yourself. The outer packaging of items should be disinfected, and the food inside can be heated before eating. Q: How can I ensure my safety when going to the supermarket? What are the chances of infection in supermarkets? A: Wear a mask, especially in supermarkets with central air-conditioning systems. Reduce touching, refer to 'Close Contact Transmission'. Q: Is there a better way to recycle masks? Oven at 60°C, dry for 40 minutes A: Poor temperature control may damage the mask material. You can put the mask in a ventilated place to dry and ventilate. If you have multiple masks, you can dry one and use one to achieve circulation. Q: If someone in your family is infected and quarantined at home, how can you prevent others from being infected? A: The quarantined person lives in a separate room, uses a separate toilet, uses separate tableware and does not eat with other people. Used tableware must be disinfected. If the quarantined person is someone who needs care, protection must be taken during the care process.
